BELIEVERS NEVER DIE PART DEUX

Yay. Guess who's going to to the Believers Never Die Part Deux tour. I am suckers. Yeah I just had to brag, it was just required. But yeah. I'm so excited.

Yeah the tour features Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metro Station, and Hey Monday. Wow, it's gonna be epic. This is going to be my 2nd time seeing fall out boy and hey monday. Ahh such memories.

Seriously though it was the biggest pain ever trying to get these tickets. (I'm going to see it May 1st at Festival Pier at Penn's Landing). The tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. this morning and I literally didn't get the tickets until a little past 11 because I was repeatedly kept in Livenation's ''waiting room''. It sucked. Anyway I'll be pissed it Livenation screws this up because I'm getting the tickets sent to me instead of having it just emailed because my email is stupid, but yeah I'll be pissed if I never get my tickets (that's my biggest fear). I spent $97 on these tickets.

The convience charge was a bitch. $12 in service/convience charges it was insane. Anyway I've never been to Festival Pier so I have no clue what it's like. All I know is that it's outdoors and standing room only. I'm super excited though, I love going to concerts they are so fun.

NEW HAIRSTYLE!!

Ok so I've been thinking that I'm in a desperate need of a haircut. My bangs have gotten ridiculously long so yeah I really need to get it cut. Problem is I don't really know what to tell the hair stylist person. I've been looking at a couple of pictures for inspiration and here are some of the one's I'm considering:

I really like the bangs, but I'd probably keep my hair longer than that. Hmm.. I like it.

Here's a side view:

I think it's pretty cute, right?

I just really need a haircut. I want my hair to look awesome like Hayley's from Paramore (yeah in case you didn't know, all those pictures are of hayley williams from paramore).

SNOW DAY!!!

So today I had a snow day, so I didn't have to go to school. I was so excited, you wouldn't even believe. I seriously never thought that my school would issue a snow day because for some reason it seems like my school has been super strict about these things. It's weird.

Tomorrow is going to be horrible though. I'm going to have to take my science, health, and geometry final all on the same day. Each test is also over 100 questions long. That's over 300 questions in one day. My brain can't handle that. No, I'll admit, my brain completely shuts down after the first 75 questions. Which means I can barely make it through one test, yet they want me to take three.

This is so not going to be good. I've finally updated my myspace (yeah you should click the link and add me), and got a new layout and song.

I'm trying to think if I have anything interesting worth talking about. Hmm.. doesn't the Senate or something vote on Obama's stimulus package today or something like that? Not that anyone cares but they should.

Oh well I'm such a nerd. So yeah, I was on youtube and I was watching a meekakitty video (click on the link and you will be directed to her channel) and she got me addicted to this song.

It's Tell Me by the Wonder Girls and it's a Korean song so I have no clue what they're saying except for when they say tell me. It has a pretty catchy beat, so it's been stuck in my head and I'd just thought I'd share.

FINALS IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MY LIFE!!

If I were to ever regret something in my life, it would be wasting my time taking final exams. They are stupid and pointless. I hate taking them because I get super flustered.

It's horrible, I have the worst test taking anxiety too, which makes it worse. It's like right before the test I start getting a headache to the point where I can't concentrate. Then I just totally blank out.

I'll forget the simplest things, and then I'll feel like such an idiot. Sometimes it gets to the point where I'll end up on the verge of tears. Oh, and usually my heart will start racing in the most horrible way ever.

Also as soon as I get done with a test I need to immediately have to have the test taken from me. Otherwise I'll sit there and just second guess myself and then change all my answers even if I know deep down they're the right answers. That's how I fail.

I've been having pretty bad anxiety attacks. I just don't want to fail, I just have this huge fear that I won't get accepted into college and i'll end up with no home or job and have to beg for food or something.

or i'll wind up living in my car (which I don't know how i'll get) and have to eat dog food or something. i mean i have nightmares about this kind of stuff. Can you imagine me in a car eating dog chow or something.

Yum.. here's a visual of the kibbles and bits I imagine myself eating in my nightmares. Geez I am such a weirdo. Who dreams about these things? To make matters worse I'm just a freshman so my nightmares are probably gonna get a lot worse. yay

BEFRIENDING A POEM

So for an english assignment I had to befriend a poem. Now what that means is that I had to write 6 paragraphs about my intial reaction, paraphrase it, research it, parody it, interview someone about it, and then write my final response. Well here's an excerpt from my epic befriending a poem. Here is the interview portion:

'I asked one of my friends, Jamille, to read the poem, ''Thirteen Ways of Looking At A Blackbird,'' by Wallace Stevens. Her first response after reading it was, ''Holy crap, that was amazing. Not even kidding. That was really good.'' After I asked her what she enjoyed about it, she went on to say, ''Everything, LOL. And the fact that I didn't get a thing from it, that's a good thing. It means that it's a real poem.'' Overall it seems that my friend Jamille, really enjoyed the poem and the fact that she didn't understand it.'

The person I interviewed is obviously one of my friends Jamille, she is awesome. Her responses are always hilarious, and she's just great. Hope you enjoyed it.

I HAVE NOTHING TO DO!!!

So yeah.. as the title says I have nothing to do. I'm so bored, it's insane. Why do I feel the need to post a dumb blog when I have nothing to talk about, it makes no sense.

Oh I went shopping today and finally after months of searching I finally found this:

Yeah it's been out since November and I just now saw it. Thank you Hot Topic. It cost like $18 and it was totally worth it. Paramore is just an amazing band, and they sound completely awesome live. So yeah if you don't already have it, you should purchase it. You can purchase it here:
click me to purchase.

Well I guess that's it. I've been stressing out a lot lately because next week is finals and I'm so scared, I'm gonna fail. I'm also excited because only 5 days until the next semester. But yeah.. I'm gonna go back to watching the Lifetime movie: Prayers For Bobby.

The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

Here's my rough draft of an essay I had to write for The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Hope you enjoy, even though there's probably a ton of mistakes.

In the novella, The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, you can't help but feel sorry for the main character, Santiago. Hemingway just knew exactly what to put to captivate you and your heart. I doubt that there's a person out there who read The Old Man and the Sea and didn't feel at least a little bit of sympathy for Santiago.
One way that Hemingway gains the reader's sympathy is by making him have extremely bad luck. Santiago even goes on to lose his only fishing companion because of this. As described in the book, ''But after forty days without a fish the boy's parents had told him that the old man was now definetely and finally salao, which is the worst form of unlucky.'' So Santiago didn't just have bad luck he had the worst form of bad luck out there. You have to feel sorry for him.
Another way, Hemingway gained the reader's sympathy for Santiago is by making Santiago an impoverished person. You get a sense of just how poor he is especially when you read about his home and bed. ''He rolled his trousers up to make a pillow, putting the newspaper inside them.'' Can you imagine having to use your pants as a pillow case and newspapers as the pillow itself? It goes on to say, ''He rolled himself in the blanket and slept on the other old newspapers that covered the springs of the bed.'' If you do not feel even a hint of sympathy for Santiago, then you must be made of stone.
The next way Hemingway makes the reader feel sorry for Santiago is by making him alone in the sea for around 3 days. His lonelieness gets so bad that Santiago actually starts talking to animals. He talks to the Marlin that he caught, he talks to a random bird that flys on his boat. He even starts talking to himself. Now, we've all seen people talk to themselves and I know from experience that you can't help but feel bad for the person. The old man also begins just wishing that he had the boy with him as he repeatdly says, ''I wish I had the boy.''
Hemingway also makes you feel sympathy towards Santiago by making Santiago get constantly injured while fishing for the marlin. In one part of the book, I believe that we hear about the wire cutting into Santiago's hand. It makes you almost cringe just trying to imagine how that feels. Hemingway also goes on to talk about how Santiago feels like his back is breaking or going out. There's also moments in the story when Hemingway describes how lightheaded Santiago feels.
Hemingway perfected the art of gaining sympathy from the reader's in The Old Man and the Sea. It would be close to impossible to find someone who didn't feel even slightly sorry for Santiago. By making Santiago have bad luck, be poor, be alone, and giving him multiple injuries, he captured the reader's sympathy and attention.

WHO'S A BAND GEEK???

I'm a band geek. Well not really but I do play clarinet, in case anyone was wondering. Now I don't really like the clarinet all that much but I play it anyway. I'm hoping it will look good on my college application. Seriously the only reason why I'm taking half the classes I am is because I'm hoping it looks good on my college application.

Yep... we had an extended homeroom yesterday and it was to discuss your goals and dreams and whatnot. And it really got me thinking about my plans. I really want to be a journalist. That is my dream, it seriously is. I want to travel around the world and report about what I see. That would be amazing.

I even have some colleges picked out. I really want to study abroad, but if that doesn't work out I was thinking about going to Ohio State. It seems like a really good school and it looks like it has a really good journalism program.. so maybe.

Well that's all I guess.. I'm a boring person, what can I say?

LALALALA LALALALA LALALALA ELMO'S WORLD!!

Wow. That's kind of scary. But it's Elmo so it's all good.

Oh yeah. Good news. Taylor Lautner will be returning to play Jacob Black in New Moon. I'm so happy. He's my favorite out of everybody. I can't wait to see him especially since he's gained a lot of weight. Haha.

Also I found out that apparantly HBP is going to be rated PG. Kind of weird. I'm only gonna complain for one reason, I hate seeing movies that are rated PG because there's just something embarrassing about it. It's like I'm seeing a kids movie when I'm 15, well I'm still a kid but whatever. It makes no sense. I just wish it was July already.

Nothing exciting happens here. It sucks. I really need to do something. I might read a book or something. I like reading books. Well that's all. Hope you enjoyed the Elmo picture, cause I sure did.
